Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh, describing the late national leader as the Guardian of Social Justice whose historic political decisions transformed Indian democracy. Stalin recalled that although born into an aristocratic family in Uttar Pradesh, Singh rose above narrow class and regional affiliations to champion the constitutional rights of the country's oppressed and backward classes with unyielding conviction.

The Chief Minister recalled Singh's courageous implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations, which granted twenty-seven percent reservation for Other Backward Classes in central government employment. Stalin observed that Singh willingly sacrificed his prime ministerial position rather than compromise on the core principle of social representation, forging an enduring ideological bond with the Dravidian movement and its veteran leader M. Karunanidhi.

Stalin emphasized that the contemporary struggle for complete social justice, including proportional representation and a nationwide caste census, draws profound inspiration from Singh's political sacrifice. He pledged that Tamil Nadu will continually uphold Singh's egalitarian legacy, resisting reactionary attempts to dilute affirmative action and advancing the constitutional cause of human dignity and equal opportunity across India.
