Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm greetings to the medical fraternity on National Doctors' Day, commending healthcare professionals across Tamil Nadu for their selfless dedication, clinical expertise, and compassion in treating citizens. Pointing to public healthcare as a cornerstone of social well-being, Stalin emphasized that dedicated doctors form the backbone of the state's robust, accessible, and egalitarian healthcare infrastructure.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister personally honored Dr. Gandhimathinathan, the retired superintendent of the Government Tuberculosis Hospital in Thoppur, Madurai. Stalin commended the veteran physician for his exemplary administrative vision, transformative leadership, and tireless efforts in revamping the historic hospital into a modern, patient-centric pulmonary treatment and palliative care institute that earned deep public trust across southern districts.
Stalin observed that public hospitals represent lifelines for economically vulnerable families, requiring sustained administrative investment and dedicated medical personnel. The Dravidian Model administration has consistently prioritized universal healthcare delivery through pioneering initiatives like Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam and Innuyir Kaappom. Stalin reaffirmed the government's steadfast commitment to supporting government medical practitioners, continuously modernizing hospital facilities, and safeguarding high-quality public healthcare for all residents.
