Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin shared a comprehensive catalog of remarkable archaeological artifacts unearthed during scientific excavations across Tamil Nadu, declaring that empirical evidence validates the state's historic claim that the history of the Indian subcontinent must be written starting from the south. Excavations at Keeladi, Sivagalai, Korkai, Vembakottai, and Thulasiyendrapuram have yielded extraordinary discoveries.
The unearthed artifacts include lidded urns, beads, terracotta bowls, ring wells, silver punch-marked coins, red-slipped ware, pottery inscribed with Tamili script, iron plowshares, spindle whorls, ivory dice, terracotta figurines, and copper antimony rods. Stalin emphasized that accelerator mass spectrometry carbon-dating of these relics scientifically pushes back the antiquity of urbanized Tamil civilization beyond the sixth century BCE.
The Chief Minister asserted that scientific research is dismantling biased historical narratives that formerly marginalized peninsular India's contributions. By establishing advanced scientific laboratories and constructing dedicated on-site museums, the Tamil Nadu government ensures that cultural heritage is documented through rigorous scientific methodology.
Stalin reiterated his administration's determination to continue archaeological explorations across India and ancient maritime trade routes abroad. He affirmed that the journey to establish Tamil civilizational antiquity will proceed unabated.
