Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive inspection of the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital in Guindy, Chennai, marking the completion of its first full year of operational service. The thousand-bed multi-specialty institution was constructed by the DMK government at a cost of 230 crore rupees to provide world-class tertiary medical care entirely free of cost to economically disadvantaged citizens.

During the visit, Stalin toured outpatient consultation suites, intensive care units, advanced radiological diagnostics, and surgical wards. He interacted directly with in-patients and attending family members, who expressed deep satisfaction with the quality of medical treatment, compassionate nursing care, and modern diagnostic facilities available without any out-of-pocket expenditure.

The Chief Minister also convened a consultation with senior medical administrators, surgeons, and department heads to review equipment requirements and specialist staffing levels. He instructed health department officials to immediately sanction additional infrastructure requests submitted by doctors to ensure the hospital operates at maximum therapeutic capacity.

Stalin emphasized that accessible, high-standard tertiary medical treatment is a fundamental human right guaranteed under the Dravidian Model. He commended medical personnel for their dedicated service to underprivileged patients.
