Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Tamil Nadu Traders Welfare Board at the Secretariat in Chennai, announcing the resolution of several long-pending grievances presented by merchant associations. The meeting addressed regulatory simplifications, trade license renewal procedures, property tax rationalization, and enhanced social security benefits for small shopkeepers across the state.
Stalin recognized the merchant community as an indispensable pillar of Tamil Nadu's commercial economy, providing essential goods and sustaining local neighborhood employment. In response to demands from trader representatives, the state government approved measures to streamline municipal inspection protocols, expand financial assistance from the welfare fund, and ease compliance burdens for retail establishments.
In return, the Chief Minister made an earnest appeal to the commercial fraternity to ensure that Tamil language prominently adorns business signboards and name displays across all commercial establishments. He emphasized that showcasing Tamil in public commercial spaces reflects linguistic pride and fosters an inclusive cultural environment for local consumers.
Stalin commended trade leaders for their collaborative approach and constructive dialogue with state officials. He affirmed that the Dravidian Model governance will continually safeguard the commercial interests of honest traders while modernizing local markets.
