DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin penned an emotional 'Letter to Brethren' to party cadres, detailing the national significance of the official hundred-rupee commemorative coin release marking the birth centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Stalin underscored that the grand event transcends partisan political divisions, bringing together Union ministers, judges, parliamentarians, cultural icons, industry captains, and allied leaders to pay homage to Kalaignar's multifaceted genius.
The Chief Minister explained that the nationwide recognition accorded to Karunanidhi demonstrates the enduring relevance of his transformative governance, having pioneered universal social welfare, reservations for backward classes, and federal autonomy. Stalin noted that an official coin minted with the Tamil motto 'Tamil Vellum' celebrates seven decades of relentless Dravidian struggle for linguistic self-respect and democratic empowerment.
Stalin urged party cadres across all districts to celebrate the centenary milestone with pride and dignity, recognizing it as a collective triumph of the movement. He affirmed that the DMK's historic mission continues to be guided by Karunanidhi's compassionate vision, inspiring future generations to uphold social justice, state autonomy, and secular democratic values throughout India.
