Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin met Young Liu, Chairman of Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturer, in Chennai to discuss strategic plans for expanding the electronics company's manufacturing footprint and advanced component production across the state. Stalin welcomed Foxconn's ambitious investment proposals, emphasizing that new production lines will generate thousands of high-value technical jobs, particularly empowering young women workers who form the backbone of the state's precision electronics sector.
Accompanied by Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and senior administrative secretaries, Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu's undisputed status as India's foremost hub for electronics hardware manufacturing, smartphones, mobile accessories, and electronic components worldwide. He noted that the state's world-class logistics, proactive industrial policies, and peaceful labor relations provide an ideal environment for multinational technology leaders to scale up large operations rapidly.
The Chief Minister assured Liu of the government's complete support in facilitating land, specialized industrial housing, and uninterrupted utilities for Foxconn's growing workforce across industrial parks. Stalin affirmed that partnering with global leaders like Foxconn accelerates Tamil Nadu's industrial transformation under the Dravidian Model, securing inclusive economic progress, gender equity, and sustainable livelihoods for youth statewide.
