šš¾ To uphold #SocialJustice, safeguard #Reservation and ensure its rightful implementation, the following steps must be taken immediately:
šÆ #LateralEntry is a direct assault on #SocialJustice, depriving the meritorious SC, ST, OBC and minority officers of their deserved opportunities at the top. The Union Govt must halt this practice, prioritise filling backlog vacancies for OBCs & SC/STs, and ensure fair and equitable promotions
šÆ We demand the complete abolition of the Creamy Layer, a concept we have always opposed. In the meantime, the stagnant ceiling for the #CreamyLayer must be raised without any further delay.
šÆ Above all, a nationwide #CasteCensus is imperative to guarantee that educational and job opportunities are justly distributed to all backward and oppressed sections of our society, who have been historically denied their rightful share.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin characterized the Union BJP Government's announcement that it will not introduce any creamy layer sub-classification modifications in Scheduled Caste reservations as a significant triumph for social justice forces across India. Stalin pointed out that intense opposition from progressive political movements, civil society advocates, and the DMK compelled the Union administration to back down from diluting affirmative action protections for marginalized communities.
The Chief Minister asserted that while this retreat marks an important defense of constitutional guarantees, the nationwide struggle for comprehensive social justice will not conclude until the Union Government conducts a scientific caste-based census. Stalin argued that accurate demographic enumeration is indispensable for designing equitable public welfare policies, updating reservation quotas, and ensuring proportionate distribution of educational and economic resources.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian movement has spearheaded the campaign for caste census and social justice at the national level. He reiterated that true democratic empowerment requires dismantling systemic inequities rather than introducing bureaucratic hurdles like creamy layer exclusions. The Chief Minister pledged that his party will continue uniting democratic forces across the country to secure proportionate representation.
