Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin handed over government appointment orders to 946 newly selected pharmacists recruited through the Medical Services Recruitment Board during a ceremony in Chennai. Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramanian attended the event as the recruits were formally inducted into state-run primary health centres, taluk hospitals, and government medical college hospitals across all thirty-eight administrative districts of Tamil Nadu.
Congratulating the newly appointed healthcare personnel, Stalin urged them to treat poor and underprivileged patients arriving at government hospitals with maternal care, empathy, and utmost professionalism. He noted that pharmacists serve as the vital link between clinical diagnosis and patient recovery in public hospitals, ensuring accurate dispensing of essential medicines, proper storage, and caring patient counselling.
The Chief Minister emphasized that strengthening public health institutions and rural dispensaries through transparent merit-based recruitments remains a cornerstone of the Dravidian Model governance philosophy. He stated that his administration has consistently expedited medical recruitments to fill critical vacancies, guaranteeing free, high-quality healthcare and uninterrupted pharmaceutical supplies for marginalized citizens. Stalin reiterated his resolve to expand state healthcare infrastructure so that every citizen receives dignified medical treatment without economic difficulty.
