Stalin presented formal sanction orders to 120 meritorious research scholars selected under the Chief Minister's Research Fellowship Scheme, granting each scholar a monthly stipend of 25,000 rupees. The targeted financial fellowship enables promising postgraduate researchers across government colleges and state universities to pursue doctoral studies and cutting-edge innovations in science, engineering, and humanities without facing financial hardship.
The Chief Minister emphasized that his administration envisions the current Dravidian Model governance era as a golden age for higher education, academic inquiry, and scientific innovation in Tamil Nadu. Stalin noted that financial constraints should never deter talented young minds from pursuing advanced doctoral research and discovering solutions to societal challenges.
Stalin highlighted that Tamil Nadu already leads the country in gross higher education enrollment, particularly among first-generation college students and women. He affirmed that establishing dedicated state research fellowships creates a robust culture of scientific inquiry, patent filing, and academic excellence. The Chief Minister urged the fellowship recipients to dedicate their intellectual capabilities to technological progress and community advancement, helping position Tamil Nadu as a global innovation capital.
