Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held highly engaging and productive bilateral discussions with senior global executives from Ford Motors during his official investment delegation tour in the United States. Stalin explored practical avenues for reviving Ford's historic three-decade partnership with Tamil Nadu, focusing on reopening their Maraimalai Nagar automotive manufacturing facility near Chennai to produce advanced vehicles for domestic and international export markets.
The Chief Minister highlighted Tamil Nadu's unmatched strengths as South Asia's foremost automotive capital, citing the state's deep vendor supply ecosystem, specialized component manufacturers, skilled workforce, and world-class port logistics. He assured the Ford executive leadership that the state government would provide comprehensive institutional assistance, infrastructure support, and favorable policy incentives to facilitate a swift resumption of manufacturing operations.
Stalin affirmed that re-engaging global automotive giants like Ford reflects international corporate confidence in the state's Dravidian Model administration and progressive economic policies. He emphasized that reviving the manufacturing plant will safeguard existing industrial capacity, generate hundreds of high-quality automotive engineering jobs, and further strengthen Tamil Nadu's undisputed leadership in the global automobile manufacturing and export sector.
