Comrade @SitaramYechury was a fearless leader whose commitment to justice was evident from a young age, as he courageously stood against the Emergency as a student leader. His dedication to the cause of the working class, secularism, social justice, equality, and progressive values shaped a distinguished career that will continue to inspire future generations.
I will always cherish the insightful interactions I had with him. My heartfelt condolences to his family and comrades during this difficult time.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt shock over the passing of Comrade Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and a towering luminary of national politics. Stalin hailed Yechury as an uncompromising defender of democratic rights whose fearless commitment to constitutional justice was forged during his youth, when he courageously organized student resistance against the 1975 Emergency.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Yechury dedicated his entire public life to championing the welfare of the working class, defending secularism, advancing social equality, and resisting authoritarianism in India's political system. Stalin recalled his warm personal friendship and extensive ideological discussions with Yechury, praising his intellectual brilliance, pragmatic coalition building, and pivotal role in uniting secular opposition parties under the INDIA alliance.
Stalin conveyed his deepest condolences to Yechury's family members, CPI(M) comrades, and progressive democratic activists across the nation. Offering a solemn Red Salute to the departed communist leader, the Chief Minister affirmed that Yechury's enduring legacy of democratic courage, secular solidarity, and social justice will continue to inspire progressive movements throughout India.
