DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conferred the prestigious M.K. Stalin Award upon former Union Minister of State and veteran party parliamentarian S.S. Palanimanickam during the party's seventy-fifth anniversary platinum jubilee Mupperum Vizha celebrations in Chennai. Stalin honored Palanimanickam for his decades of steadfast loyalty to the DMK, exceptional legislative advocacy in New Delhi, and pivotal role in strengthening party organization across Thanjavur district.

The Chief Minister commended Palanimanickam's principled public career, recalling how he served with distinction as a multi-term Member of Parliament and central minister under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's coalition government. Stalin noted that Palanimanickam consistently represented the interests of delta farmers, fought for Cauvery water rights, and championed railway and infrastructural expansion across central Tamil Nadu.

Stalin emphasized that conferring annual awards during the Mupperum Vizha serves as a revered party tradition to celebrate lifelong dedication to the Dravidian movement. He praised Palanimanickam's organizational discipline and unwavering commitment to party ideology, expressing confidence that his exemplary public record will inspire younger generations of DMK cadres to serve society with deep integrity and distinction.
