DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid heartfelt memorial tribute to CPI(M) General Secretary Comrade Sitaram Yechury, characterizing his life as an enduring lesson in ideological integrity and selfless public service. Stalin highlighted Yechury's unassuming demeanor, calm intellect, profound analytical clarity, and unwavering commitment to Marxist ideals, describing his untimely demise as a monumental loss to India's secular and progressive movements.
The Chief Minister recalled Yechury's pivotal historical role since the 1990s in stitching together secular coalition governments at the Centre to preserve national unity and federal harmony against divisive communal forces. He noted that Yechury combined steadfast ideological principles with a pragmatic understanding of political realities, bridging ideological differences among progressive parties to forge broad democratic alliances in defense of the Constitution.
Stalin emphasized that from his student activist days at Jawaharlal Nehru University until his final breath, Yechury held the red flag high without compromise. He affirmed that Yechury's relentless struggle for the rights of workers, farmers, and marginalized communities will continue to guide future generations of democratic activists across India for decades to come.
