Editorial context

DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed party members following the successful conclusion of the party's seventy-fifth anniversary platinum jubilee celebrations. Reflecting on the movement's historic contributions to democratic reform and social justice over seven decades, Stalin called upon cadres to pledge that the core constitutional principle of state autonomy will be fully realized before the party attains its centenary.

Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian movement has consistently championed true federalism, linguistic dignity, and decentralization of administrative authority from New Delhi to state governments. He emphasized that excessive concentration of fiscal and legislative power at the Centre undermines the democratic rights of states, impairing their ability to formulate welfare policies tailored to local socio-economic realities.

The Chief Minister noted that the fight for provincial self-governance and cooperative federalism is entering a decisive phase across India's political landscape. He urged party functionaries and democratic allies to build widespread national consensus in favor of greater constitutional devolution. Stalin concluded that securing meaningful political and economic autonomy for states remains the ultimate tribute to founding leaders Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar Karunanidhi.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
