Honoured to inaugurate the Southern States DsGP Coordination Conference 2024.
I am confident that this meeting will strengthen inter-state cooperation to combat illicit liquor, drugs, banned tobacco, cybercrime, inter-state gangs, and misinformation.
Through collaboration, we can ensure public peace, internal security, and safety for all.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Southern States Directors General of Police Coordination Conference 2024 in Chennai, bringing together top law enforcement leadership from southern India. Delivering the opening address, Stalin expressed strong confidence that enhanced institutional cooperation between neighboring states is essential to safeguard internal security, preserve public order, and address complex inter-jurisdictional criminal networks effectively.
The Chief Minister identified key operational priorities requiring systematic inter-state intelligence sharing and coordinated action, including the complete eradication of illicit liquor networks, synthetic narcotics distribution, banned tobacco smuggling, and cross-border organized criminal syndicates. He also underscored the growing dangers posed by advanced cybercrimes, online financial fraud, and coordinated digital misinformation campaigns designed to disturb communal harmony.
Stalin stressed that modern policing requires sophisticated technological tools, specialized data analytics, and seamless inter-state operational protocols. He affirmed that maintaining peace and a crime-free environment forms the foundational prerequisite for industrial investment and economic progress. Stalin urged the participating police chiefs to formulate concrete action plans ensuring regional security and public protection across southern states. The administration remains committed to providing modern resources and forensic capabilities to state police personnel.
