Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited his home constituency of Kolathur in Chennai to distribute laptops and sewing machines to successful trainees at the Anitha Achievers Academy. Founded in sacred memory of medical aspirant Anitha, whose tragic death symbolized the structural injustices of the NEET examination, the academy provides free professional skilling in financial accounting, Tally, advanced software tools, and professional garment design.
Stalin reported that since its inception, the academy has trained thousands of underprivileged youth, distributing 1,512 free laptops to software trainees and 2,536 motorized sewing machines to female vocational graduates. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister handed over 107 laptops to accounting trainees and 350 sewing machines to women artisans, while also inaugurating comprehensive eye screening camps and distributing assistive healthcare aids.
The Chief Minister stressed that equipping subaltern youth and rural women with marketable technical skills is the most enduring method of achieving economic independence and household resilience. He commended academy instructors and volunteers for their selfless dedication, reiterating his government's resolve to replicate such community skill hubs across all assembly constituencies across Tamil Nadu for community empowerment.
