Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a state-of-the-art Information Technology office complex constructed at Vilankurichi in Coimbatore by the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu. Stalin recalled that former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi opened the pioneering Peelamedu TIDEL Park in 2010, which catalytically transformed the surrounding area into Coimbatore's famous Cyber City and established the city's modern technology ecosystem.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the newly commissioned Vilankurichi IT Park provides international-grade digital infrastructure, high-speed fiber connectivity, energy-efficient workspaces, and comprehensive business support systems. The facility is designed to attract leading global software enterprises, multinational technology services, and fast-growing domestic tech startups, creating thousands of high-income employment opportunities for engineering and technology graduates.
Stalin emphasized that Coimbatore stands proudly as Tamil Nadu's second-largest IT employment hub and is rapidly emerging as a formidable technology destination on the global industrial map. He reaffirmed his government's resolve to foster balanced technological growth across Tier-II cities, ensuring that youth in western Tamil Nadu can access premier knowledge-economy jobs without migrating away from their home regions, accelerating regional prosperity and industrial development across the state.
