Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for a modern non-leather footwear manufacturing facility established by Dean Shoes at Jayankondam in Ariyalur district. The industrial project, involving a massive capital investment of one thousand crore rupees, is slated to commence manufacturing operations shortly, creating thousands of industrial jobs primarily for women and local youth.

Stalin described the establishment of a world-class footwear export factory in Jayankondam as an unprecedented industrial revolution for a historically agrarian and economically lagging region. He commended Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and Guidance Tamil Nadu for actively steering global manufacturing investments into interior districts to achieve geographically dispersed economic growth.

The Chief Minister underscored that Tamil Nadu leads the country in non-leather footwear and leather goods manufacturing, accounting for a dominant share of national output and exports. He affirmed that industrial clusters in Jayankondam and surrounding areas will create vibrant ancillary supply chains, boosting local commerce. Stalin reiterated that the state will continue offering progressive industrial incentives to ensure equitable employment and long-term industrialization across all regions to boost regional employment and export capabilities.
