Chief Minister M.K. Stalin pointed to the successful operationalization of the Phoenix Kothari Footwear Park in Perambalur as tangible proof of his administration's ability to fulfill industrial investment commitments swiftly. Stalin recalled that commercial production commenced within a single year of laying the foundation stone, creating stable manufacturing employment for thousands of rural women across backward central districts.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the non-leather footwear cluster in Perambalur exemplifies the state's decentralized industrial policy, which actively directs major manufacturing investments into interior districts rather than concentrating factories near Chennai. He noted that providing industrial employment with living wages transforms rural household economies, fostering female financial independence and reducing agrarian distress.
Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu's industrial ecosystem is unmatched in facilitating rapid project execution through streamlined regulatory approvals and supportive infrastructure. He reaffirmed that the government will continue partnering with leading global manufacturers to establish specialized manufacturing hubs statewide. Stalin concluded that generating dignified local employment remains the foremost yardstick of Dravidian Model economic governance, ensuring shared prosperity across all thirty-eight districts, fostering inclusive industrialization and self-reliance for working families.
