Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the second phase of the flagship nutritional initiative Oottachathai Uruthi Sei (Ensure Nutrition) during an official ceremony in Ariyalur district. Stalin revealed that the public health initiative was conceived beyond immediate political or electoral considerations, aiming instead to protect the physical growth and cognitive development of Tamil Nadu's children for the next half-century.

Reporting the transformative outcomes of the first phase, the Chief Minister announced that 77.3 percent of children identified with severe acute malnutrition were successfully nursed back to normal health through targeted clinical intervention, supplementary specialized nutrition, and pediatric monitoring. Under Phase Two, extended across the state at an outlay of twenty-two crore rupees, malnourished infants and nursing mothers receive customized nutritional kits and ongoing medical surveillance.

Stalin noted that investing in early childhood nutrition forms the bedrock of social justice and human capital development. He commended Anganwadi staff, healthcare workers, and Social Welfare Department officials for their dedication, affirming that the Dravidian Model administration will continue pursuing comprehensive child welfare until child malnutrition is completely eliminated statewide across all thirty-eight districts, fostering inclusive industrialization and self-reliance for working families.
