Chief Minister M.K. Stalin marked the one hundred eighth anniversary of the founding of the South Indian Liberal Federation, popularly known as the Justice Party, honoring its revolutionary role in pioneering social justice governance in India. Stalin recalled that the historic non-Brahmin movement, established in November 1916, transformed regional politics by enacting communal representation through landmark government orders that introduced affirmative action.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Justice Party initiated historic social transformations a century ago, including mandatory free primary education, the pioneering midday meal scheme in Madras Corporation schools, and the legislative creation of the Hindu Religious Endowments Board to dismantle hereditary priestly monopolies. He emphasized that these historic milestones laid the permanent foundational path for today's Dravidian Model administration.
Stalin affirmed that modern welfare programs, such as comprehensive reservation quotas and universal breakfast schemes, represent the direct continuation of the Justice Party's egalitarian mission. He declared that defending social justice, subaltern representation, and federal autonomy against regressive centralist forces remains the sacred duty of the Dravidian movement, urging cadres to carry forward the emancipatory ideals of the movement's founders.
