DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin chaired a meeting of party parliamentarians at Anna Arivalayam to formulate strategic legislative priorities for the winter session of Parliament. Stalin identified several critical national concerns requiring aggressive parliamentary debate, including unilateral Hindi imposition, the contentious Waqf Amendment Bill, the rushed enactment of new criminal codes, and undemocratic proposals for simultaneous elections.
The Chief Minister condemned the Union Government for failing to address recurring train accidents that threaten public safety, while criticizing its persistent refusal to conduct a nationwide caste-based census essential for equitable reservation policies. He also directed parliamentarians to demand urgent central intervention to halt continuous attacks, boat seizures, and arrests of Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy.
Stalin instructed the parliamentary delegation to challenge central fund withholdings that stall Samagra Shiksha and disaster relief in Tamil Nadu. He reiterated that DMK MPs must function as a united voice defending secularism, state rights, and subaltern welfare on the national stage, ensuring that centralizing policies are vigorously scrutinized and resisted through coordinated democratic action alongside INDIA bloc colleagues across the entire nation.
