Stalin conferred the prestigious Kalaiselvam awards upon eminent musicians, vocalists, and performing artists during the golden jubilee celebrations of Muthamizh Peravai in Chennai. Stalin emphasized that Muthamizh Peravai, founded by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi five decades ago, has consistently served as a vital cultural platform to elevate classical Tamil compositions, indigenous ragas, and traditional musical forms.

Delivering the keynote address, the Chief Minister underscored that Tamil must reign supreme across all cultural and artistic domains, advocating that classical concerts throughout Tamil Nadu give primary prominence to Tamil keerthanams and literary verses. He observed that preserving linguistic dignity within classical fine arts safeguards ancient cultural identity against cultural erosion and external homogenizing influences.

Stalin commended the awarded cultural luminaries for their dedicated artistic contributions, urging younger performers to popularize classical compositions among contemporary youth. He affirmed that the state government will steadfastly patronize traditional artists, modernize cultural academies, and support musical festivals.
