Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened an emergency administrative review meeting with district collectors of Mayiladuthurai, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, and Cuddalore following red-alert meteorological warnings predicting intense downpours across the coastal and delta districts. Stalin reviewed district-level contingency arrangements, mandating that local administrations ensure the full operational readiness of emergency shelters, medical teams, power backup generators, and relief supply stockpiles in vulnerable flood zones.
Demonstrating proactive governance, the Chief Minister instructed senior cabinet ministers to station themselves directly within the respective coastal districts to supervise field operations, monitor water releases from irrigation dams, and coordinate rescue agencies. Stalin assured the public that the state administrative machinery has completed all pre-monsoon protocols, including canal desilting, drainage widening, and deploying heavy pumping machinery to avert waterlogging in low-lying residential settlements.
Stalin urged residents to adhere strictly to civic safety guidelines and take adequate precautions during stormy weather. He affirmed that the Dravidian Model administration maintains continuous round-the-clock surveillance to guarantee public safety, promising that every necessary resource is deployed to protect agricultural lands and community assets throughout the monsoon season.
