#CycloneFengal has wreaked unprecedented havoc across 14 districts of Tamil Nadu, affecting 1.5 crore people, inundating 2.11 lakh hectares of farmland, and damaging critical infrastructure.
Given the magnitude of destruction, I urge Hon'ble @PMOIndia Thiru. @NarendraModi to release ₹2000 crore from the NDRF immediately to aid emergency restoration and rehabilitation efforts.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a pressing appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the urgent release of 2,000 crore rupees from the National Disaster Response Fund to support emergency restoration and community rehabilitation operations following the devastating impact of Cyclone Fengal. Stalin stated that the severe cyclonic storm unleashed unprecedented havoc across 14 districts of the state, directly affecting more than 1.5 crore citizens and submerging 2.11 lakh hectares of fertile agricultural land.
The Chief Minister stressed that the sheer magnitude of infrastructural damage, encompassing washed-out rural roads, breached irrigation channels, collapsed electric transmission towers, and inundated residential clusters, requires immediate and substantial financial intervention from the Union government. He emphasized that local disaster response teams, armed forces personnel, and municipal workers have been working tirelessly on the ground to rescue stranded residents and restore essential basic utilities.
Stalin urged the central administration to rise above bureaucratic procedures and provide immediate financial support commensurate with the catastrophic scale of the calamity. He reaffirmed his administration's determination to rebuild impacted regions swiftly, ensuring that affected farming families and rural artisans receive holistic state assistance.
