During a detailed telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin briefed the central leadership on the extensive devastation wrought by Cyclone Fengal across northern and delta districts of the state. Stalin apprised the Prime Minister of the swift, coordinated disaster management operations mounted by the state administration, including the prompt evacuation of vulnerable citizens, round-the-clock emergency medical response, and widespread relief supply distributions in waterlogged regions.
The Chief Minister conveyed the acute distress experienced by farming communities and urban residents, reiterating his formal written request for the immediate dispatch of a multi-disciplinary Union assessment team to inspect flood damage firsthand. Stalin strongly urged the Prime Minister to release substantial interim relief funds from the National Disaster Response Fund to assist the state government in executing emergency repair works across damaged electrical, highway, and civic infrastructure.
Stalin expressed firm confidence that the Prime Minister would consider Tamil Nadu's urgent financial requirements constructively and sanction the requested disaster aid promptly. He affirmed that the state government will work tirelessly alongside local administrative agencies until every affected neighborhood is completely restored to normalcy.
