Commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reaffirmed the state government's resolute commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and socio-economic advancement of differently-abled citizens. Aligning with the United Nations theme advocating the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future, Stalin emphasized that true social justice requires elevating differently-abled individuals into decision-making roles, prestigious public offices, and diverse professional careers.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Dravidian Model administration has implemented comprehensive welfare interventions, ranging from elevated disability pensions and barrier-free public infrastructure to specialized skill training programs and employment reservation quotas across public and private sectors. Stalin observed that overcoming structural barriers to achieve excellence is the proud hallmark of differently-abled individuals, asserting that the primary duty of governance is to dismantle those obstacles through compassionate, progressive policies.
Stalin praised the extraordinary resilience demonstrated by differently-abled achievers in sports, academia, entrepreneurship, and public service. He pledged that Tamil Nadu will continue spearheading pioneering welfare policies, ensuring that every differently-abled citizen receives comprehensive institutional encouragement to realize their potential and lead fulfilling, independent lives.
