Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a state-of-the-art residential hostel building specifically constructed for differently-abled collegiate students at historic Presidency College in Chennai, fulfilling an administrative pledge he had announced in July 2022. Revisiting his venerable alma mater, Stalin expressed deep personal satisfaction and emotional joy upon witnessing the enthusiasm of the enrolled students who now have access to modern, barrier-free living accommodations within the collegiate campus.
The newly constructed multi-storey hostel has been meticulously designed with accessible ramps, specialized braille signage, spacious elevators, customized washroom amenities, and adaptive living quarters tailored to the unique physical requirements of differently-abled scholars. Stalin underscored that providing dignity and equitable institutional infrastructure remains the foundational guiding principle of the Dravidian Model governance, ensuring that physical challenges never obstruct academic aspirations.
The Chief Minister spent considerable time interacting warmly with the resident students, encouraging them to pursue higher academic excellence and competitive career paths with unyielding self-confidence. He reiterated that his administration will continue expanding inclusive welfare infrastructure across state educational campuses, guaranteeing that every deserving student receives comprehensive public support to achieve professional success.
