Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commemorated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the majestic 133-foot Thiruvalluvar Statue standing at Kanniyakumari, celebrating the monument as the Statue of Wisdom. Stalin recalled that the offshore stone monument was conceived, meticulously sculpted, and unveiled by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to honor the sage-poet whose timeless philosophical work Thirukkural offers a universal moral guide for all humanity.
The Chief Minister underscored that the monument at the southernmost tip of peninsular India symbolizes the timeless glory of the Tamil language and its secular humanist tradition. By translating classical ethical couplets into an imposing stone landmark, the Dravidian movement established a permanent cultural beacon celebrating equality, justice, and social righteousness. Stalin called upon Tamils worldwide to celebrate the milestone anniversary with profound cultural pride.
Stalin affirmed that the timeless principles embedded in Thirukkural serve as the bedrock of his administration's Dravidian Model governance. He stressed that preserving classical literature and monuments reinforces regional cultural self-confidence, ensuring that ancient Tamil wisdom continues to illuminate contemporary debates on ethics, human equality, and democratic governance across the nation and the wider world.
