Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended warm greetings to the farming community on the occasion of National Farmers Day, reaffirming his administration's dedication to agricultural prosperity and rural livelihoods. Stalin highlighted the historic legacy of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who pioneered landmark pro-farmer policies including free agricultural electricity, the establishment of Uzhavar Sandhais (direct farmers markets), and comprehensive cooperative crop loan waivers.
The Chief Minister asserted that the Dravidian Model administration operates as an empathetic guardian of agrarian interests across the state. Over the preceding three years, state agricultural policies, separate farm budgets, and timely water management from major reservoirs enabled Tamil Nadu to achieve consecutive records in food grain production. Stalin noted that supporting farmers with input subsidies and modern equipment safeguards rural economic stability and ensures statewide food security.
Stalin pledged that his government will continue expanding specialized welfare interventions, irrigation upgrades, and crop insurance coverage for farming households. He stressed that sustainable agrarian growth remains vital to balanced state development, promising that the administration will persistently champion progressive agricultural policies to honor the tireless labor of cultivators who nourish the entire state.
