Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin observed the fifty-first death anniversary of social revolutionary Thanthai Periyar, asserting that while fifty-one years have elapsed since the icon concluded his earthly life, the Dravidian movement continues to advance his transformative mission without pause. Stalin described Periyar's ideological crusade for self-respect, rationalist thought, and the eradication of caste hierarchies as the bedrock of contemporary Tamil society.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Dravidian Model government functions as a direct administrative continuation of Periyar's lifelong struggle for the marginalized and oppressed. By enacting progressive legislations ensuring gender parity in property rights, expanding backward classes reservation, and reforming temple priesthood across all castes, the state translates Periyar's radical egalitarian vision into concrete public policy. Stalin noted that social justice requires constant institutional defense against regressive forces.
Stalin affirmed that every policy enacted by his administration seeks to dismantle entrenched social inequities and expand educational opportunities for underprivileged communities. He exhorted cadres and citizens to renew their commitment to rationalism and constitutional secularism, vowing that Tamil Nadu will remain an unyielding fortress of self-respect, progressive enlightenment, and human dignity for generations to come.
