Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound emotion upon receiving the historic walking stick of social reformer Thanthai Periyar, presented to him by Dravidar Kazhagam President K. Veeramani. Stalin observed that Periyar's walking stick symbolizes the revolutionary movement that eradicated two millennia of caste indignity, instilled uncompromising self-respect among oppressed masses, and enabled the Tamil people to stand tall with human dignity.
The Chief Minister commended Veeramani for dedicating his life to spreading rationalist ideology and leading the creation of a vast digital repository of Dravidian movement literature. The initiative digitizes historic editions of Viduthalai published since 1935 alongside foundational rationalist publications, creating an accessible public intellectual treasure house. Stalin noted that preserving movement archives ensures that younger generations can study the ideological struggles that reshaped peninsular India's social democracy.
Stalin pledged that his administration and the party will resolutely continue the educational mission of propagating Periyar's rationalist ideals across society. Calling for rationalist enlightenment to spread everywhere, he reaffirmed that the Dravidian Model of governance remains firmly anchored in the foundational tenets of social justice, secularism, gender equality, and scientific temper.
