Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid warm centenary tributes to veteran communist leader and freedom fighter Comrade R. Nallakannu upon his completion of one hundred years of life. Stalin remarked that Nallakannu's remarkable journey represents an inspiring epic of relentless struggle, selfless public service, and unyielding dedication to working-class welfare. The milestone coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of India.

The Chief Minister observed that describing Nallakannu merely as a symbol of simplicity understates his fierce courage in enduring imprisonment and hardships for communist ideals. Throughout his life, Nallakannu spearheaded grassroots movements defending agricultural laborers, marginalized communities, and natural resource conservation. Stalin recalled that the Tamil Nadu government recognized his towering stature by conferring the prestigious Thagaisal Thamizhar Award upon the venerable leader during the inaugural year of the award.

Stalin affirmed that the progressive alliance continues to advance toward societal equality guided by Nallakannu's ethical clarity and principled life. On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, he extended heartfelt felicitations, wishing the centenary icon sustained health, longevity, and peaceful guidance for democratic movements across the state.
