During a fiery debate on the floor of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin challenged the opposition AIADMK to demonstrate the courage to wear black shirts in protest against central discrimination and gubernatorial disrespect toward the state legislature. Responding to staged opposition protests, Stalin questioned why the principal opposition party remains completely subservient to the BJP-led Union government despite chronic withholding of state tax shares, disaster relief funds, and education grants.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state Governor repeatedly violates constitutional conventions by skipping portions of the official gubernatorial address and stalling legislation enacted by elected representatives. While the treasury benches consistently stand up for state rights, Tamil dignity, and federal autonomy, the opposition refuses to condemn central transgressions or gubernatorial defiance. Stalin asserted that wearing black shirts is a symbol of righteous resistance made famous by Periyar, demanding genuine spine rather than political theatrics.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK administration will fearlessly confront central hegemony and gubernatorial obstructionism both within legislative chambers and before the Supreme Court. He reiterated that defending Tamil Nadu's democratic honor remains paramount.
