Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over the official Thiruvalluvar Day awards ceremony in Chennai, honoring eminent scholars, writers, and public figures for outstanding lifelong service to Tamil language, literature, and social reform. Stalin presented cash prizes, gold medals, and citations to celebrated recipients including Mu. Padikkaramu, K. Veeramani, D. Ravikumar, L. Ganesan, Pulavar Muthu Vavasi, K.V. Thangkabalu, V.M. Pothiyavelpan, Dr. G.R. Ravindranath, Pon. Selvaganaapathy, and Kabilan.

The Chief Minister observed that presenting annual awards named after historic icons like Periyar, Ambedkar, Anna, Kalaignar, and Kamarajar embodies the state's ongoing dedication to rationalism, democracy, and inclusive development. Each award recognizes dedicated individuals who have defended social justice, published pioneering historical research, or advanced public healthcare and egalitarian education. Stalin stated that honoring intellectual pioneers preserves the vibrant heritage of the Dravidian movement.

Stalin congratulated all the awardees and encouraged the younger generation of researchers to draw inspiration from their scholarly rigor and public service. He reiterated that the Dravidian Model governance will continually patronize literature and scholarship, celebrating thinkers who enrich Tamil cultural identity. Their dedicated intellectual contributions will guide future generations toward societal progress.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
