Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a live keynote address in Karaikudi on the opening of the Srimathi Lakshmi Valartamil Library, established by senior parliamentarian P. Chidambaram. Speaking before prominent academics, writers, and civic leaders, Stalin hailed the initiative as a magnificent tribute to knowledge, linguistic development, and regional philanthropy. He emphasized that establishing modern reading infrastructure ensures that classical and contemporary Tamil scholarship remains vibrant and easily accessible to future generations.
The Chief Minister stressed that libraries are the intellectual engines of progressive societies, fostering democratic consciousness and analytical thought. He noted that the DMK administration consistently promotes reading initiatives statewide by constructing monumental learning centers, organizing international book fairs, and reviving public library networks. Stalin praised Chidambaram for channeling personal resources toward educational enrichment, urging other community leaders to invest in cultural and literary endowments.
