Commemorating the pioneer martyrs of the anti-Hindi agitation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally inaugurated the renovated memorial complex honoring Thalamuthu and Natarajan at Moolakothalam in Chennai. Stalin paid reverent homage to the two historic martyrs, noting that their supreme sacrifices in the 1930s served as the foundational spark that ignited the Dravidian movement's successful defense of linguistic freedom and state autonomy against imposition.
Responding positively to a public request presented by Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will erect grand bronze statues of Thalamuthu and Natarajan at the historic Thalamuthu-Natarajan Maaligai complex in Egmore. He stressed that memorializing language warriors in prominent public spaces ensures that coming generations remain conscious of the immense sacrifices made to preserve Tamil dignity.
Stalin declared that his administration is driven by the ideological courage and egalitarian principles of these fallen heroes. He affirmed that Tamil Nadu will never bow before linguistic arrogance or central cultural dominance. Stalin concluded by reiterating the solemn salute of millions of Tamils to all language martyrs, affirming that Tamil will triumph through organized public resolve and cultural pride.
