Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally inaugurated a grand memorial auditorium in Viluppuram honoring veteran Dravidian social justice leader A. Govindasamy, affectionately remembered as 'A.G.', alongside a dedicated memorial hall commemorating twenty-one social justice martyrs. Stalin highlighted that these courageous agitators made the ultimate sacrifice while demanding constitutional reservation and educational entitlements for the Most Backward Vanniyar community during historical agitations.
The Chief Minister drew a sharp historical contrast, pointing out that while a past regime brutally gunned down unarmed protesters demanding their democratic rights, the Dravidian Model administration has restored their rightful honour in the annals of state history. He emphasized that constructing permanent state memorials for grassroots martyrs demonstrates the DMK's unbreakable commitment to preserving the memory of those who bled for backward class empowerment.
Stalin affirmed that true social justice requires honoring historical struggles while actively expanding developmental access for marginalized communities. He reiterated that the DMK administration continues to champion affirmative action and equitable education across Tamil Nadu. Stalin concluded that the memorials will stand as an enduring tribute to the martyrs' valor, inspiring future generations to uphold equality and social democracy.
