During today's DMK MPs’ meet, we adopted key resolutions, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary session in New Delhi
🔹 Frame a Code of Conduct for Governors & time limit for approving state bills and files.
🔹 Urge the Union Government to recognise Tamil Land’s 5,370-year-old #IronAge history.
🔹 Protest against #UGC draft regulations that threaten federalism & state education rights.
🔹 Condemn the Union BJP Government's attempt to amend the #Waqf Act, affecting minorities.
🔹 Demand allocations for Tamil Nadu in the budget, development projects, disaster relief, and railway schemes.
Our MPs will strongly raise these issues!

Chairing an essential strategy meeting of DMK members of Parliament ahead of the parliamentary session in New Delhi, Chief Minister and party president M.K. Stalin oversaw the adoption of key legislative resolutions defending state autonomy and constitutional federalism. Stalin instructed the party's parliamentary contingent to forcefully champion Tamil Nadu's democratic rights, fiscal entitlements, and progressive social justice principles on the floor of both houses.
The adopted resolutions demanded that the Union Government establish a binding constitutional Code of Conduct and strict timeframes for Governors to grant assent to bills passed by state legislatures. The party also urged official recognition of Tamil Nadu's 5,370-year-old Iron Age civilization, resolved to resist central University Grants Commission regulations that infringe on state educational prerogatives, and strongly opposed unilateral amendments to the Waqf Act that undermine minority rights.
Stalin emphasized that DMK lawmakers must aggressively pursue Tamil Nadu's long-delayed financial claims, including disaster relief assistance, rail infrastructure investments, and urban development grants. He concluded that the DMK's parliamentary presence serves as the primary democratic shield protecting federalism, promising that the party will collaborate with nationwide opposition forces to defend regional rights and constitutional governance.
