Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the implementation of the Kaakkum Karangal welfare initiative, an institutional program designed specifically to support ex-servicemen, defense veterans, and the families of martyred soldiers from the state. Stalin urged eligible military personnel and bereaved kin to register and avail themselves of the comprehensive financial grants, entrepreneurship subsidies, and educational assistance provided under the state-sponsored scheme.
The Chief Minister highlighted that soldiers who defend the nation's borders endure extraordinary sacrifices to preserve national security and peace. Stalin affirmed that it is the solemn moral and constitutional duty of the state government to extend protective care to defense personnel upon their return to civilian life, and to look after the dependents of brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Under the Kaakkum Karangal scheme, the state administration facilitates subsidized business loans, self-employment training programs, preferential land allocations, and specialized healthcare assistance for retired military personnel. Stalin reiterated that Tamil Nadu deeply values the patriotism and dedication of its defense community, assuring veterans that his administration will always stand by them with steadfast respect and material support.
