Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin offered respectful homage to pioneering socialist thinker and freedom fighter M. Singaravelar on his birth anniversary, commemorating his historic contributions to the labor movement and social justice. Stalin hailed Singaravelar as a versatile visionary who advanced workers' rights as an early communist pioneer, a stalwarth of the Non-Cooperation movement, an insightful journalist, and an elected member of the Madras Corporation.
The Chief Minister recalled the profound ideological kinship between Singaravelar and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, noting that Periyar entrusted the editorial guidance of the Self-Respect journal Kudiarasu to Singaravelar during his European tour in 1932. Stalin also quoted revolutionary poet Bharathidasan, who celebrated Singaravelar's valiant frontline leadership in advancing socialist ideals and organizing working-class power across Tamil Nadu.
Stalin affirmed that Singaravelar's synthetic integration of economic equality, rationalism, scientific education, and anti-caste emancipation remains a guiding light for the Dravidian Model administration. He stressed that the state government continues implementing labor-friendly welfare policies, worker safety legislation, and social equity programs that honor Singaravelar's enduring intellectual legacy. He concluded that Singaravelar's revolutionary life inspires ongoing struggles for human dignity and working-class empowerment.
