Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed an urgent appeal directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the ethical justification of withholding 2,152 crore rupees in statutory Samagra Shiksha education grants from Tamil Nadu students. Stalin challenged whether it is fair for the Union Ministry of Education to make essential school funding conditional upon the complete implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and its controversial three-language formula.

The Chief Minister asserted that tying regular school education allocations to the acceptance of unrelated central policy mandates disregards the democratic sentiments and linguistic principles of the Tamil people. He pointed out that depriving school children of entitled learning resources penalizes innocent students simply because the state government exercises its constitutional authority over state educational policy.

Stalin urged the Prime Minister to grasp the gravity of the educational impasse and intervene personally to ensure the unconditional release of the withheld funds. He affirmed that educational access constitutes an essential public entitlement that must never be manipulated for ideological leverage. Stalin declared that Tamil Nadu will remain steadfast in defending its two-language policy while relentlessly fighting for constitutional federalism and student welfare.
