During his official tour across Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin warned the Union Government regarding discriminatory tax devolution and withheld central funds. Addressing a large public gathering, Stalin remarked that declaring a refusal to remit central taxes takes only a moment, articulating the growing public frustration across Tamil Nadu over unbalanced fiscal distribution.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Tamil Nadu stands as one of India's foremost contributors to national revenue through direct taxes and GST. Despite generating massive resources that finance development across other states, the state receives disproportionately low returns and faces arbitrary reductions in education, disaster relief, and infrastructure allocations from New Delhi.
Stalin asserted that the Dravidian Model administration will not tolerate financial strangulation or procedural indifference from central authorities. He demanded that the Union government respect state taxation rights, distribute revenue shares equitably, and release long-pending statutory grants without imposing ideological preconditions. Stalin affirmed that defending regional economic self-reliance remains central to protecting public welfare across Tamil Nadu, assuring citizens that his administration will fiercely contest fiscal injustice in parliamentary and legal forums.
