Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the formal signing of a major memorandum of understanding with Evervan Kothari Footwear Limited, securing a 5,000-crore-rupee capital investment that reinforces Tamil Nadu's undisputed global leadership in non-leather footwear manufacturing. The industrial initiative is projected to generate fifty thousand direct employment opportunities, providing an enormous economic boost to non-metropolitan districts and accelerating sustainable manufacturing across the central region.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the investment will establish large-scale manufacturing campuses across Karur and Perambalur districts, strategically dispersing high-volume industrial production beyond traditional metropolitan centers like Chennai. Stalin pointed out that footwear and consumer manufacturing operations provide transformative wage-earning opportunities for rural women, enabling tens of thousands of female workers to attain economic self-reliance and financial independence. He commended Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and departmental officials for swiftly securing the high-value project.

Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's investor-friendly industrial policies, dependable power infrastructure, and excellent port connectivity continue attracting premier global manufacturing suppliers. He concluded that expanding sustainable manufacturing ecosystems in developing districts remains central to achieving equitable, distributed prosperity across the state, fostering balanced regional growth for decades.
