When we are delivering results, why impose something for the comfort of a few imperialistic minds?

Editorial context

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended Information Technology Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan for delivering an articulate critique of central educational policies, praising his clarity in exposing the imperialistic mindset behind imposing standardized national frameworks on high-performing states. Stalin stated that when Tamil Nadu's educational infrastructure consistently generates outstanding literacy metrics and superior higher education enrollment figures, there is no rationale for enforcing redundant central guidelines.

The Chief Minister questioned why central decision-makers seek to impose the National Education Policy upon states that have already exceeded national targets, suggesting that such measures serve the ideological convenience of centralizers rather than the educational needs of students. He noted that Tamil Nadu's holistic, accessible schooling network was developed through decades of dedicated investments and grassroots social reforms, which should serve as a national model rather than being dismantled by external directives.

Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK government remains committed to protecting regional autonomy in education, curriculum design, and linguistic policy. He emphasized that Tamil Nadu will continue resisting arbitrary impositions, maintaining that decentralized public instruction best addresses local developmental needs and social justice goals.
