Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched a searing critique of the Union government's National Education Policy, characterizing it as a destructive ideological blueprint originating from Nagpur designed to undermine India's secular, scientific, and inclusive public education framework. Stalin maintained that the policy represents a calculated endeavor to dismantle the progressive, egalitarian achievements realized through decades of social justice struggles, threatening to reintroduce exclusionary social hierarchies into educational institutions.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the National Education Policy centralizes curricular decisions, undermines regional languages, imposes standardized examinations that disadvantage marginalized students, and dilutes statutory affirmative action provisions. Stalin reaffirmed that Tamil Nadu's robust state educational system has consistently led the country in higher education gross enrollment, female literacy, and technical workforce training precisely because it prioritizes social equity, local relevance, and institutional autonomy. He asserted that substituting scientific pedagogical methods with ideological orthodoxy damages the nation's intellectual growth.
Stalin pledged that the Dravidian Model administration will resolutely defend Tamil Nadu's secular school curriculum and university autonomy. He affirmed that the state will continue formulating inclusive, evidence-based educational policies that nurture critical thinking and democratic values among youth.
