Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered an uncompromising critique against the Union government's National Education Policy, characterizing it not as progressive educational reform but as a regressive saffron ideological agenda aimed at homogenizing India's diverse learning environments. Stalin asserted that Tamil Nadu has consistently pioneered social justice, universal school access, and scientific inquiry through its state-specific educational policies, which have produced generations of world-class scientists, engineers, and public administrators.
The Chief Minister warned that central directives seeking to impose standardized curriculums, centralized entrance testing, and mandatory three-language formulas threaten to exclude rural, backward, and first-generation learners from higher educational institutions. He underscored that education belongs fundamentally within the state domain where local needs, linguistic realities, and regional histories can be directly addressed. Stalin stated that the Dravidian Model administration will vehemently resist any policy framework that seeks to dilute constitutional reservation guarantees or enforce cultural conformity.
Affirming the state's unyielding stance, Stalin declared that Tamil Nadu will persist with its fight to protect state educational sovereignty. He emphasized that the government will continue formulating autonomous educational pathways that nurture critical thinking and uphold equal opportunity for every student.
