Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the presentation of the exclusive Agriculture Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, featuring an expansive total outlay of 45,661 crore rupees designed to uplift the farming community and modernize agrarian livelihoods. Highlighting key policy measures, Stalin noted that the budget enhances welfare assistance for agricultural laborers, establishes 1,000 Chief Minister's Uzhavar Seva Maiyams, promotes cutting-edge agricultural technology, and implements a dedicated development scheme for hill-tribe farmers.
The Chief Minister detailed specialized initiatives tailored to protect agrarian resilience, including a comprehensive special assistance package for non-delta paddy cultivators alongside substantial financial grants to establish value-addition processing units for agricultural produce. He explained that Tamil Nadu's practice of presenting an independent agricultural budget reflects an unwavering institutional commitment to farmer welfare, ensuring that agrarian investments receive prioritized fiscal allocations, modern irrigation infrastructure, and reliable crop insurance coverage across all agro-climatic zones.
Stalin congratulated Agriculture Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam and departmental officers for crafting an inclusive, forward-looking budget. He affirmed that the state government will vigorously implement these initiatives to ensure remunerative farming and agrarian prosperity throughout Tamil Nadu.
