Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a compassionate public appeal encouraging citizens across the state to set out water bowls and food grains for birds during scorching summer heatwaves. Stalin highlighted that soaring summer temperatures and urban concrete expansion create acute dehydration and distress for urban avian species and small wildlife. He reminded the public that kindness toward non-human life forms reflects the deep humanitarian and ecological traditions of Tamil civilization.

The Chief Minister suggested that residents in residential colonies, apartments, schools, and offices place earthen bowls filled with clean drinking water in balconies, gardens, and rooftops. He noted that small collective gestures by ordinary citizens can save countless birds from heat exhaustion while instilling ecological empathy in children and youth. Stalin emphasized that biodiversity conservation is not restricted to protected forests, but must begin in backyards and neighborhood streets through proactive community care.

Stalin called upon environmental groups, student volunteers, and neighborhood associations to lead local awareness drives promoting seasonal wildlife care. He reaffirmed that Dravidian Model governance values ecological stewardship as an integral dimension of creating a compassionate, sustainable society for all living beings.
